Grover Douglas (Sonny) Puckett, 90 years old of Utica, Ms passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 at Sunnybrook Estates in Madison, MS.

Sonny was born April 17, 1931 to Grover & Maurnie Sisk Puckett of Utica Ms. He lived there most of his life. He worked at Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg, MS until he retired in 1986. Uncle Sonny enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He spent many hours at ball fields with others who came to know him as Uncle Sonny. He was loved by so many people and will be remembered as one of the kindest and most gentle souls.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Puckett and Maurnie Sisk Puckett; sister, Doris Mathes; and brothers, Lawrence Puckett and Bruce Puckett.

He is survived by his sister, Patsy Boyd; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bransen Puckett, Victor Puckett, Jeffrey Puckett, Brad Boyd, Robbie Boyd and Brice Holloman.

Visitation will be held on October 18, 2021 at Utica Christian Church from 9:00 A.M. to 11 A.M. A funeral service will follow with Rev. Brad Hartzog officiating.
