Alice L Schwarz

<p><strong>Alice L. Schwarz, 94, of Newton died on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Newton Health Care Center. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials to the First United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home.</strong></p> <p><strong>Alice, the daughter of Olie and Lulua (Janes) Boots, was born on May 17, 1927, in Minnesota.&nbsp;&nbsp;As a child her family moved to the Panora, Iowa area where she would grow up.&nbsp;&nbsp;Following her graduation from Panora High School, Alice taught at a one room schoolhouse in Dale City.&nbsp;&nbsp;In 1946, Alice was united in marriage with Raymond Moyers in Guthrie County. They made their home in Newton beginning in 1950.&nbsp;&nbsp;Alice sold Avon in Newton for over 34 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;After Raymond&rsquo;s death in 1985, Alice was married to Floyd Schwarz in 1990 in Monroe. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Grange, Elks Lodge, and the VFW Auxiliary.&nbsp;&nbsp;Alice loved doing all crafts.&nbsp;&nbsp;She also enjoyed puzzles, traveling, playing cards, and going to flea markets and auctions.&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Alice is survived by her children, Marilyn (Harold Paul) Moyers-Anderson of Story City and Mike Moyers of Urbandale; grandchildren, Micah (Jen) Anderson, Mischa Moyers-Anderson, Serana (Matthew) McKee, John Merkley, and Thomas Else; her great-grandchildren, Logan and Brooke Anderson and Luci and Victor McKee; and siblings, Bob (Jean) Boots of Atlantic and Lois Guthrie of Stuart.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Raymond Moyers; second husband Floyd Schwarz; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Moyers; and siblings, Norma Riffel and Jack Boots.&nbsp;</strong></p>
