<p>David L. Shoemaker, age 81, of Manchester Township, York, died at 5:20 AM Friday, October 15, 2021, as a result of Covid-19. He was the long time companion of Mary G. (Zeek) Young. He is also survived by five children, as well as a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.</p> <p>Born April 9, 1940 in Columbia County, the only child of the late Frank J. Shoemaker, and the late Margaret E. (Whitenight) Shoemaker Eyer, he was retired from Caterpillar, Inc., and prior to that had worked at AMF. He also served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.</p> <p>Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of private arrangements.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, Central Pennsylvania Chapter, 724 South George Street, York PA 17403.</p>Obituary
