<p>William Ralph "Uncle Bill" Sapp, age 87, of Maidsville, passed away on Friday, October 15th, 2021 at his residence after a long illness.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born in Hundred, WV on November 2nd, 1933, a son of the late John and Flossie Hudson Sapp.</p><p><br></p><p>Bill was a member of the Northern Star Church of God. He loved to sing and play guitar. He was a fun loving person who always had a smile on his face. He never met a stranger, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.</p><p><br></p><p>Bill is survived by two brothers, Robert Lee Sapp of Morgantown and Buddy Sapp of Hundred, WV; one sister Violet Payne of Greensburg, PA; and his brother-in-law Eldon Mayle of Maidsville with whom he made his home.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters Regina May Mayle and Wilda June Javosky.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends may join the family to honor Bill's life and legacy at the Northern Star Church of God in Maidsville on Monday October 18th and Tuesday October 19th from 2-4 &amp; 7-9 PM, and on Wednesday, October 20th from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM officiated by Pastor Eldon Mayle, Pastor Eldon Mayle, Jr., Pastor Ronnie Mayle, and Pastor Shelby Demidovich. lnterment will follow in the church cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, please consider assisting the family with funeral expenses by donating directly to the funeral home at www.smithfcc.com, where condolences can also be made..</p><p><br></p><p>Smith Funeral &amp; Cremation Care of Westover / Morgantown is providing care and guidance to the family.</p>
