<p>Victor Ferrante, 80, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2021 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury CT. Victor was born in Ripi, Italy to the late Orlando and Maria D. (Cortina) Ferrante. Beloved husband of Philomena DeLuca Ferrante.</p> <p>Victor left Italy when he was 7yrs old and moved to Caracas, Venezuela with his family. In his teens he got a job as a horse groomer and trainer for an area race track.&nbsp; He later moved to the United States where he obtained several degrees in Machining including Industrial Engineering. He worked for Heli-Coil, Amphenol RF Corp. where he owned and ran a cafeteria in the building and Kings Electronics in Tuckahoe, NY. He was a CNC Machine Instructor a few nights a week at Henry Abbott Technical School for some time as well as consulting for various machine shops in the area. At one time, Victor was part owner of The Old Sorrento Restaurant in Danbury and eventually moved on to open a very well-known diner on West St. in Danbury which he called Vic&rsquo;s Place. For many years until his retirement, he worked as an Industrial Engineer for DCG Precision Manufacturing in Bethel.&nbsp;</p> <p>Victor was an avid soccer player. He is best known for being the best goalie in town by many. He played for several area teams and at a point in his life was scouted by a professional American team called The NY Cosmos. He loved his garden, fig and lemon trees, watching cartoons, westerns, horse racing and playing bocce. He was a member of the Amerigo Vespucci Lodge in Danbury. Victor was a selfless, good hearted amazing man with great integrity who knew how to make everyone laugh. He was extremely hardworking and full of wisdom, kindness and positivity, touching the hearts of everyone he met. Victor Ferrante has one of the most beautiful souls that will live on in all that knew him and will be greatly missed.&nbsp;</p> <p>In addition to his wife Philomena, Victor is survived by his children: Orlando (Donna) Ferrante, Maria Ferrante (Miller), his five grandchildren Orlando Jr., Dylan, Tyler, Zach &amp; Austin, a sister Angela DeLucia and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother, Enrico Ferrante and two sisters, Annetta Baldassara and Maria Varrone.</p> <p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday October 18, 2021 at St. Gregory the Great Church (85 Great Plain Rd, Danbury, CT 06811) at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Peter Cemetery (Lake Ave Ext, Danbury CT 06810).</p> <p>In Lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made in his name to the American Heart Association or St. Jude&rsquo;s Children&rsquo;s Hospital.</p> <p>To light a candle or leave a condolence in his memory, please continue to the Tribute Wall tab.</p>
