Anita DeLao Marin Obituary

Anita De La O Marin, 76, of Odessa, a beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother was called to her eternal resting place on October 13, 2021.

Anita was born in Pecos, TX to the late Liberato and Julia De La O on June 12, 1945. She was one of nine children, growing up with five brothers and three sisters. Anita soon met the love of her life, Elias Marin. They married June 13, 1964 and had three amazing children together. Anita and Elias lived an extremely beautiful and happy life together.

Anita, or Nana (a name given to her by her first grandchild, Amber, and a name that everyone knew her by) spent all of her life as a stay at home mom, where she devoted all her time and attention to her children and grandchildren. Nana loved to invite everyone over for family dinners. Her specialties were her cheesy lasagna and chicken and rice soup. Nana also loved to shop and was always dressed from head to toe with her matching outfits and accessories. She loved attending her grandchildren's school and sporting events and was always their biggest supporter. Her grandchildren were her biggest blessing. Nana was also blessed with three great-grandchildren who she loved dearly.

Nana loved the Lord and was a devout Christian who served at Iglesia Bautista Jerusalem (Jerusalem Baptist Church) for many years. She was a proud Deacon's wife and loved to spend her time volunteering in the church nursery and kitchen. Nana loved her church family with all her heart and enjoyed spending time with them.

Anita is preceded in death by both her parents, brothers: Cruz De La O, Ramon De La O and Liberato De La O Jr. and sister, Hortencia Chairez.

Left to cherish her memories - her loving husband of 57 years, Elias Marin, her children: Norma Padilla (Jaime), Annie Perez (Ruben), Michael Marin (Stephanie) and Cruz De La O Jr., sisters: Gloria Villarreal and Julia Villa, brothers: Adolfo De La O and David De La O, grandchildren: Amber Padilla, Ruben Perez Jr. (Adelle), Jade Marin (LaLa), Andrew Perez (Melissa), Brenda Padilla, Paige Marin, Michelle Perez, Michael Marin and Elijah Marin and great-grandchildren: Audri, Ruben III and Rohan Perez.

Pallbearers will be Ruben Perez Jr., Andrew Perez, Michael "Mikey" Marin, Ector Marin, Jeff Daniels and Joe Villa.
