<p>Ann C. Mathis, of Oxford, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021, at the age of 76. Mrs. Mathis was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Covington where she was very involved. She sang in the Sanctuary Choir, assisted with providing and serving food for the Widow to Widow luncheons, and was a member of the Mission Seekers Sunday School class. With her kind and loving spirit, Mrs. Mathis served on the bereavement committee. Before retirement, she taught first grade for 15 years at East Newton Elementary School, and in her spare time was an avid runner for exercise. Mrs. Mathis was an immaculate housekeeper, and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond G. Sr., and Christina (Aycock) Collison.</p> <p>Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Jerome Mathis; sons, Jeff Hipps, Greg Hipps; granddaughter, Isabella Hipps; sister, Teresa Womack; as well as several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>A Funeral Service for Mrs. Mathis will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell &amp; Cowan, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Dr. Cody McNutt officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Monday, October 18, from 6:00 &ndash; 8:00 P.M.
