Phyllis Marie Ann Ellis Mooresville, Indiana Obituary

Phyllis Marie Ann Ellis

Phyllis Marie Ann Ellis, 77, longtime Mooresville resident, passed away October 14, 2021. Mrs. Ellis was born on New Year's Eve in 1943, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to the late Lonnie and Ethel (Wilburn) Abrams. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and her passing leaves a significant void for her loving family. In addition to providing love and support to her family through the years, she was the manger of Pink Front Laundromat for several years, retiring in 2005. She enjoyed cooking, watching Gunsmoke, and took in all kinds of animals, including birds, dogs, and cats. Phyllis was energetic, determined, and never met a stranger – only new friends. She will be fondly remembered for her kind and caring nature. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Garland Lee “Pete” Abrams; brothers, Kenneth, Elwood, Lloyd, Harold “Dick” Abrams; an infant sister, Irene Abrams. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, James R. Ellis; sons, Leslie Lonnie Ellis and James Robert Ellis, II; sister, Virginia Davis; grandchildren, Benjamin Loren Ellis, Stephen-Paul James Ellis, and William Bradley Ellis; great grandchildren, Rowan Scott Ellis and Trey William Ellis. Phyllis’ Life Celebration® visitation and funeral service will be held at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory.
