It is with deep sadness that the family of the late George Power of St. Lawrence announces his passing. George passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center in Burin on October 13th, 2021 at the age of 73.

Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife, Gertrude of 52 years; sons, Rodney (Ruth) of St. Lawrence, Levi (Melanie) of Winnipeg, Shawn (Flora) of St. Lawrence, and Rick Edwards of Marystown; daughter, Nadine Slaney (Todd) of Airdrie, AB; 11 grandchildren, Alysha, Danielle (Garrett), Angelique (Chris), Shauna (Adam), Laura (Ryan). Jillian (Tallon), Ben, Braelyn, Sam, Dalton, and Keagan; 7 great-grandchildren, Ryder, Ethan, Callie-Anne, Elias, Isla, Finley, and Elowyn; sisters, Eileen Power of Little Bay, Rosanna Vardy of Halifax, Patricia Hanrahan (Mike) of Marystown and Sister Madeline Power of Halifax; brothers, Maurice Power of Little Bay, Gerald Power (Rita) of Little Bay; plus a large number of family and close friends.

George was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Lucy Power; brothers, Leo Power (Gertie), Albert Power and Fonce Power (Dot); sister, Agnes Hillier (Bill); and parents-in-law, Levi and Elizabeth Molloy.

The Power Family will be accepting visitors at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in St. Lawrence on Saturday, October 16th from 10am-12pm, 2-4pm, & 6-9pm, Sunday, October 17th from 2-4pm & 6-9pm, Monday, October 18th from 10am-1pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in St. Lawrence on Monday, October 18th at 2pm

Interment to follow at Mt. Cecilia RC Cemetery in St. Lawrence.
