Karen Watson, age 70, of Thurmont MD, died after a battle with cancer on October 15, 2021 in Frederick, MD. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Glenn Watson, her three Daugther's Jennifer Pizzillo, Jahme McMillen and Kara Day, her Mother Marjorie Stright, her brother John Stright and her sister Anne Agnew. Karen Was born on April 2, 1951 in Pittsburgh PA to parents Majorie and John W. Stright. She grew up in North Huntingdon, PA, graduated from Norwin Highschool and, completed a Bachelors of Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1973. She married Glenn Watson on July 21, 1973 at the UCC Church of Larimer, PA. together they had 3 children and then 5 grandchildren. Karen dedicated her professional life to education, teaching in many primary and secondary schools, both public and private for more than 40 years. She spent many hours volunteering for school organizations and was honored with a lifetime PTA membership. Karen was a devout christian and was active in her community, spending years in service to her church participating in many roles, including choir and handbells. Karen took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and husband throughout her retirement years. The Watson family will have a memorial service and reception on October 22, 2021 in Darnestown, Maryland.
