Jerry Brandt Gebhardt

Mulberry – Jerry Brandt Gebhardt passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Lakeland Regional Health. He was born on November 21, 1940, in Pekin, Illinois to the late Maurice & Elna Gebhardt. He graduated from Florida Southern College in 1962 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and worked in retail management throughout his career. Jerry was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and participated in all intramural sports. In his senior year he was voted intramural basketball MVP. Jerry’s success in his career resulted in frequent relocation for the Gebhardt Family throughout the southeastern United States, moving to Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Maryland and finally back to Florida. In his adult life, he loved fishing, basketball, football, golf, and was a member of the Methodist Church in Mulberry. Jerry was full of life. He never knew a stranger. He loved talking with people using his great wit and sense of humor to make people feel at ease. He was a hard worker, a motivator, and most of all a wonderful family man. He is survived by his wife, Joan Gebhardt and son, Kevin Gebhardt and his fiancé Ami Cook of Florida; daughter, Andrea Mosley of Texas; son, Chad Gebhardt and his husband Mark Fountaine of Virginia; grandchildren, Brock Mosley and Nicole Warren of Texas, Michael Gebhardt and Brandon Gebhardt of Alabama; and his great, great granddaughter Mia Warren of Texas; sister, Bobbie and husband Les Colclasure of Illinois; his nieces, Cathy Highland and Wendy Colclasure of Illinois. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 10 am at Oak Hill Burial Park, 4620 US Highway 98 South, Lakeland, FL 33812. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Sleep Apnea Association of America to educate people of the dangers of untreated sleep apnea and help fund research for a cure. www.sleepapnea.org.
