Elaine Gotavaskas

Elaine Gotavaskas, 72, died on the 13th of October 2021 at the Reservoir Physical Rehabilitation Center located in West Hartford, CT after suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Ms. Gotavaskas was born on the 13th of September, 1949 in the New Britain General Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gotavaskas. After graduating from New Britain High School, she married Mr. Wallace Steele, Jr. on the 27th of September, 1969. They raised two sons (Spencer Steele and Christopher Steele) while living in West Hartford, CT. After they were divorced, Elaine stayed living in West Hartford for a number of years before moving to Charlotte, NC to be close to her extended family. After a few years of living in North Carolina, Elaine moved back to Connecticut to be close to her son Christopher, his wife Jennifer and their son Samuel. Her family is paying tribute to Elaine for being one of the nicest, most family oriented, amazing mother and aunt with a heart of gold. We will all miss her for lovely generosity as she will be sorely missed. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday (18th of October 2021) from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Avenue, Newington followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m.
