Paul M. Fowler

Paul Mardis Fowler passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at his home in Brandon, MS. He was 86. Paul was a veteran of the Korean War, worked in insurance, investments, and car sales. He loved working in his yard and was an avid musician. He loved playing the guitar and piano and spent most of his life entertaining his family and friends with a variety of music from Gospel, Country and Rockabilly. Paul was born on August 19, 1935, in Quitman County, but lived in Clarksdale, MS most of his life until he moved his family to Brandon. He was the son of the late James Thomas Fowler and Nellie Martin Fowler. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbye Nell Fowler; son Marty Fowler; granddaughter, Angelica Cassatta; grandson, John Marshall Harmon; step sons, Raymond Harmon III, Danny Harmon, Bob Harmon, and 12 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Nell Fowler, of Brandon; his children: Ricky Fowler, of Pearl; Daphne Carpenter (Tim), of Brandon; Kim Tedford (Paul), of Lyon; Heather Long (Michael), of Florence; and Lee Cassatta (Johnny), of Brandon; grandchildren: Ryan Fowler, Michael Carpenter (Deanna), Anna Houston (Joel), Kassie Gibson, Gerald Tedford, Jr., Sophie Tedford, Zack Fowler (Jennifer), Valerie Hoover (Justin), Fowler Long, Sam Sparks (Sara), Dawn Ballard, Yuvonda Ewing (Darrell), Danny Harmon, Jr., Colton Harmon (Devan), Meghan Peterson (Josh), Johnny Cassatta III (Kelly), and Jon Michael Cassatta (Lauren); 25 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16 at Skyway Hills Baptist Church, 3790 Hwy 80 East in Pearl, with Rev. Joel Stroud and Rev. Floyd Higginbotham officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeland Place Garden Park Cemetery in Flowood. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12 Noon until the hour of the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Ryan Fowler, Zack Fowler, Gerald Tedford, Jr., Michael Carpenter, Jon Michael Cassatta, Fowler Long, and Noah Gillion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or visit www.stjude.org.
