Richard "Rick" Widder, Sr. Obituary

Richard was born to Reuben Marvin and Dorothy Mae on November 5 1951.  The 2nd of 4 children and the only boy.  Richard grew up in Franklin, Wisconsin, he grew up fast and learned the values he instilled in his own children later in his life from his family.  Richard met his future wife in the first grade, as the years passed they developed what would eventually become 43 years of marriage together.  Richard graduated from Howards Grove High School in June of 1969 just 3 years later he would marry Doris Jane Faust in July of 1971.

Richard worked many jobs but driving truck was his first passion, he drove over the road for the better part of 18 years until the family moved to Arizona in 1986 and finally to Montana in 1987 where he would continue his hard work to provide in multiple jobs from Moo Juice Dairy in Corvallis, and a ranch in Corvallis. He finished his working career with the county as a custodian for a second time after working for the City of Hamilton at Riverview Cemetery.

In May of 1972, the couple welcomed their first of 3 children, Richard Reuben Widder Jr. the first born son apple of his eye he would watch to grow into a hardworking, honest husband to Lisa Hamilton and father to his second born grandson Will Reuben Widder

Under two years later the two welcomed their second child Renee Lynn Widder the middle child and only girl he would watch her grow to become an independent hard working and successful woman, and mother to first born grandchild Mark Anthony Widder.

Around 6 years passed before the two welcomed their last child Ryan Scott Widder.  He watched as he grew into a man rich with the values, integrity and hard work he learned from his father as he became one himself giving Richard his final two grandchildren Isaac Scott and Myles Ryan.

Richard was a terrific grandfather to his grandchildren and was always smiling when they came to visit him. He taught them the values he taught his own children and was so very proud of the family he had.

Richard fought a battle with disease and many would say their hat is off to him as he rarely complained, he had made his peace with the life he had lived and surrounded by his children on October 11, 2021 at 12:47am Richard opened his eyes and smiled when he saw them before he went home to be with his lord.
