Marcia Sanchez, 54, of Jersey City, NJ, formerly of San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021.

Marcia was born in the city of San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic on June 26th, 1967. She came to New York City in 1983, then settled in Jersey City in 1989 with her husband. She completed her Child Development Association Certification and followed her passion of working with children at Greater Bergen Community Action Head Start for over 25 years. Marcia enjoyed spending time with her family, playing scratch-offs, drinking coffee, and getting her hair done.

Her family and friends will remember her as a selfless, caring, dependable, and loving spirited person to anyone she would meet. Marcia will be memorialized by all the children she educated and nurtured as her own.

Marcia is survived by her husband Juan Sanchez whom she shared a marriage of 32 years, her firstborn daughter Marshalide Sanchez, her second daughter Mabel Sanchez; her siblings Rosalma Lafontaine, Mario Martinez, Maribel Lopez, Ruben Martinez, Francisco Martinez, Maria Martinez, and Manuel Martinez; her many nieces and nephews, her stepson Yosaury Sanchez, and her grandchildren Joseph and Eliana Sanchez. Marcia is survived by many loving cousins and a few godchildren.

Marcia joined in passing with her parents Ercilia Collado and Marino Martinez.
