Dean Scott Glover Obituary

Dean S. Glover passed away unexpectedly at the age of 66 on September 28, 2021 at St. Charles Hospital in Redmond, Oregon. Dean was born in Roseburg, Oregon to Harold and Rhoda Glover and was part of a large loving family. His siblings are Doug, Charlene, Beverly, Brian, Dennis, and Bruce. Growing up, he loved fishing and hiking with his family, scouts and he especially loved baseball. He obtained his Eagle Scout, along with his four brothers. He graduated from Roseburg Senior High School in 1972. After graduating from Oregon State University in 1976, he moved to Portland and took his career job at Hunter- Davisson. In 1977, he married Rebecca Miller of Stayton, Oregon. They have three children, Joshua (wife Abby, and children Georgia and James), Emily (husband Brett), and Rachel (husband Christian and baby boy due very soon). They started their family in Portland and later moved to Tualatin and then Sherwood. The family enjoyed working, playing and traveling together through the years. Dean was an active volunteer in many areas of is community, including church, school, sports, and scouts. Dean spent his entire career working as a mechanical engineer and was part owner in Hunter-Davisson, a mechanical contractor in Portland, Oregon. He earned his EIT and PE license to further his education. He taught refrigeration at Portland Community College, worked with ABC Contractors, and was a founding board member of the NW College of Construction. He felt very strongly about the trade and wanted to help further education for both men and women in the field. After retirement in 2010, Dean and Becky moved to Powell Butte, Oregon where they built a home an he continued to volunteer with his church (Powell Butte Christian Church) and the Kiwanis Club of Prineville, whose primary goal is to help children in the area in various ways. Dean enjoyed creating new projects (a joke among the family), woodworking, carving, camping, hiking, music and traveling. He had a love of nature and could be found each morning with his Bible by the big windows in the sunroom, just waiting for the deer to make their morning trek. He also loved his four week bow hunting trip in the wilderness with his brother-in-law Nick. Dean was a man of integrity, compassion and humility. He was loving, caring, generous, and had a great sense of humor. He was a mentor to many. Most of all, he had a great faith in his Lord and Savior. There will be a celebration of life for Dean on November 13, 2021 at 1 pm at the Powell Butte Christian Church in Powell Butte, Oregon. Because of Covid, there will be no food served and masks will be required. If you are not able to attend, there will be a live stream available on the Powell Butte Christian Church You Tube Channel. This can also be watched at a later date.
