Daniel William Freke, age 59, of Hampshire, Illinois, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Amita St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin.  He was born on February 6, 1962. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Julia (Gorr) Freke, along with his three brothers; David, Patrick, and Kenneth, and sister, Deborah Wilkinson, He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cecilia (Hames) Freke. Family members including sister and brother in-laws, and many nieces and nephews, and wonderful friends, were all an important part of Dan’s lifetime.  His enjoyment of music, flying, and golfing were some of the many great attributes that he shared with others. His achievements of serving in the United States Air Force, along with his educational degrees, provided him with a platform of mastering the skills of becoming a private airplane pilot, and also having his own construction business. Dan integrated fun and companionship with everyone, and always stood steadfast in his Christian faith. A memorial tribute will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 10:00 AM at CrossWind Community Church, Genoa, Illinois.   In lieu of flowers, you may honor Dan’s life with a donation to:Hopebuildersinternational.org
