Bernard Gekanana was born in Riondonga village, Kisii county, Kenya on February 22nd, 1979, to the Mr. Jonson Oboko Gisebe and Alice Kemunto Ogari. Bernard left this life on September 11, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. He attended Nyaturubo primary school, Sameta High School in Kisii county where he obtained his high school diploma (KCSE) in 1998. He joined trans eastern airline aviation college in 2001 and graduated in 2002. He was offered a scholarship to study in Australia where he graduated with bachelor’s degree in business administration. While in school, he enjoyed taking part in games and sports. He was on soccer and track team for Sameta High School where he performed well. Bernard was married to Edna Sarange in 2000 and blessed with three children., son Lenox Gekanana, daughters Lynsha Gekanana and Lesly Gekanana. He worked for Agility logistics ltd before transitioning to work for Saudia airline in Kenya. He received a lot of commendation from his employers because of his outstanding and professional services. He relocated to Dubai where he worked for Qatar airline before moving back to agility ltd Kenya. In May 2019, Bernard relocated to USA with family for permanent residency settling with his brother in-law in Atlanta Georgia. He worked for Inelifer company before relocating to Washington state. Until his demise, He was employed at rainier state school under Washington state department of developmental disability administration (DDA/DSHS). Bernard loved people and made so many friends because of his social charming and interactive character both at workplace and his neighborhood. He also loved to travel as well as spending time with friends and family. Bernard is survived by his wife Edna Sarange, son Lenox Gekanana, daughters Lynsha Gekanana and Lesley Gekanana of Washington state USA. His sister Sylvia Ogari, brothers Alfred Ogari, Charles Ogari and Stephen Ogari in Kenya.
