FARRELL, Edward John, Jr. - Age 85, of Fenton, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, October 18, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St. Fenton.  Fr. David Harvey celebrant.  Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Sunday from 4-8 PM where a 3rd Degree K of C Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM followed by a 4th Degree Chalice Service and at church Monday from 10 AM until the time of the Mass.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Fenton Knights of Columbus Council #7418.  

Edward was born January 11, 1936 in Gladstone, the son of Edward John, Sr. and Astrid Amanda (Helman) Farrell.  He was a 1954 graduate of Gladstone High School. He then received a Bachelor's Degree from Northern Michigan University and a Master Degree from Michigan State University.  He married Elizabeth Tassone September 7, 1963 in Ishpeming.  Edward was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.  He retired as a teacher from the Clio Area Community School District.  He had resided in Fenton for the past 20 years coming from Clio.  He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton.  Edward also was a member of Fenton Knights of Columbus Council #7418 and the 4th Degree Assembly #2031.  

Surviving are: his wife, Elizabeth; sons, Edward "Ed" (Melissa) Farrell III of Fenton, James "Jim" Farrell of Lake Orion, and Joseph "Joe" (Sunita) Farrell of Taledo, OH; grandchildren, Edward IV and Taylor Farrell both of Fenton, Sophia and Camilla Farrell both of Costa Rica; brother, Charles (Karen) Farrell of Gladstone, sisters, Pat (Jim) Brusoe of Wisconsin, Barb Nelson of Gladstone, and Diane (Mick) Bergeon of Gladstone; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
