William Lee Chavis, 92, of McColl, SC passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Chavis was born August 29, 1929 in Dillon County, SC, a son of the late Tommy Chavis and the late Annie Lee Chavis. He was a member and Deacon of Pee Dee Chapel Church. Mr. Chavis was loved his family and everyone he came across. He was always humble in his own stubborn sassy way. William loved music and played the guitar. He even taught many of his grandchildren to play.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Annie Chavis; his wife, Annie Ruth Clark Chavis; two daughters, Kathy Chavis and Jackie Chavis Deal; six brothers, John L. Chavis, Reedy Chavis, Tommy Chavis, Wesley Chavis, Eddie Chavis and Raymond Chavis; and two sisters, Anna Belle Hunt and Liza Jane Revells.

Survivors include a son, Billy Chavis of McColl; a daughter, Debra Jean Chavis of McColl; nine grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 PM Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Pee Dee Chapel Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Pee Dee Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
