Wynelle Perry Irving, Texas Obituary

Wynelle Perry

Wynelle (Chapman) Perry, 85, passed away peacefully and entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on October 9, 2021, in Cedar Hill Texas. Wynelle was born in Bailey, Texas on September 7, 1936, to her parents, D.R. and Cleva Geneva Chapman. Wynelle graduated from Hale Center High School where she excelled in her love of basketball, playing Forward for the Hale Center High School Owls and still to this day, holds the record for highest points (over 50) scored in a single game. Wynelle enjoyed many hobbies, including reading, gardening, baking, sewing, floral arranging, bowling and a host of other arts and crafts. She loved decorating for Christmas and the resulting smile on her children’s and grand-children’s faces. Wynelle was a wonderful cook, but was especially known for her delicious desserts that she made for family and hundreds of church gatherings. Wynelle loved her family with all she had and made them her priority. Above all Wynelle will be remembered for her faith as a strong Christian woman. She had a beautiful voice and was a long time member of her church choirs. She was a devoted church member, working as the secretary, accountant, treasurer and on various committees for several churches throughout her life. The dedication she had for the Lord was an inspiration to her family and all those around her. The Lord surpassed none other. Wynelle was met in Heaven by her loving husband, Charles Harvey Perry; father, D.R. Chapman; brother, Donald Wayne Chapman; sister-in-law, Rita Joy Chapman; and son-in-law, Larry James Ridge, Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Cleva Geneva Chapman; son, Richard Kevin Perry, and wife Carla; daughter, Dana Kay Ridge; her grandchildren: Joseph Eric Perry and wife Shelly; Preston Heath Perry and wife Victoria; Tyler Austin Perry and wife Gabrielle; Ashley Briana Short; Larry James Ridge, Jr.; Kagan Vestle Ridge; Afton Ridge and husband, Josh Avila; Charles Perry Ridge; nine great-grandchildren; brothers: Michael Chapman, and Jerry Lee Chapman and wife Marianna; sister, Mary Lou Rastetter and husband Roy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends who will miss Wynelle dearly. A Memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church Cedar Hill, Cedar Hill, Texas, on October 21, 2021, with Brother Scott Blair officiating. Visitation will be held in the church Fellowship Hall at 2:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service in the church sanctuary at 3:00 PM. There will be no graveside service. A special thank you to the Staff of Ben F. Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home for their help during our difficult time.
