Dale Vernon Matheson (64) of Leesburg, FL passed away at his home October 2, 2021. He was born September 9, 1957 in Palm Springs, CA. Dale is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Catherine Saltzman Matheson; his children, Alicia Anderson of Orlando, FL, Keith Anderson (Nicole) of Orlando, FL and Kevin Anderson (Amber) of Orlando, FL; 11grandchildren; parents Warner and Lola Matheson; siblings Sherry Jackson, Daryl Matheson and Vicki Elliot; and nieces Jackie Bailey and Melissa Elliot. Dale was a red-blooded American serving the country in the U.S. Army. He later worked as a stucco worker, adorning many commercial and residential buildings. He worked hard, but also enjoyed the slower side of life, play pool, darts or poker. He also enjoyed boating, canoeing, and fishing. When we think of his character, he was a “smart ass.” His humor and sarcasm were expected. He was a tough “grumpy old fart,” but also easy going and fun. He has left us too quickly with many memories and we will sorely miss him. Dale will be buried at the Florida National Cemetery with honors.
