Celebration of Life

Shirley J. Miles was born to the late Evelyn Miles Hull and Essie Hull on April 3, 1936 in St. Louis Missouri.

She was employed at Old World Bakery and Blocksom Company. She loved Playing Bingo, was a people person, took care of people for many years and was an awesome foster mother to a lot of kids, enjoyed cooking, and playing cards, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

Shirley departed this life on October 13, 2021 at Life Care Nursing Facility. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Terry Hull, two grandchildren, Jarvis Johnson and Brandi Mitchell, two son-in-laws, Robyn “Tim” Howell and James “Jay” Kelly, two step-daughters, Louise Hull, and Katrina Hull.

She leaves to cherish her unforgettable memories, two daughters, Lynette Kelly of South Bend, Indiana; and Myla Howell of Michigan City, Indiana; one sister, Ann Hull of Flint, Michigan; two brothers, Carl Hull of Flint, Michigan and Reggie Pennell of Portland, Oregon; three grandchildren, Katranis Miles of St. Cloud, Minnesota; Robin Howell of Killeen, Texas; Keena Howell of Indianapolis, Indiana; 2 special grandchildren, Kersee Anderson, and Anthony Anderson both of Michigan City, Indiana; five step-children, Eddie Hull, Debbie Johnson, Debra Hull, Kelley Tillman, and Rochelle Allison, 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, Kadarius, Jamia, Keelan, Jayvion, and Faith, a host of godchildren, a special friend, Bobbi Linsey, special families that are close to her, The Coopers, The Vaughns, Corleys, Johnsons, Garners, Frys, Leeks, Stones, Davis, Stanleys, Harris, Turners, James, Flys, Hawkins, her Life Care Nursing Home Family, and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of life will take place Monday, October 25, 2021 at 11am at Pentecostal Temple COGIC 2722 Wabash St. Michigan City, Indiana.Viewing will be from 10am to 11am at the Church until time of service with Pastor Robert Johnson to do Eulogy. Burial to follow at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.

Shirley will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
