Geraldine Ann Hamrick Obituary

Geraldine “Gerri” Ann Estes Hamrick, 88, wife of the late Jonas Elmer Hamrick, died October 13, 2021, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.  Mrs. Hamrick was born August 5, 1933, a daughter of the late Charles Lipscomb and Annie Bell Perkins Estes.

Mrs. Hamrick was a selfless individual, devoted to her Lord, family and friends, a wonderful cook, who loved bird and neighbor watching.  She had a green thumb when it came to her beautiful flower garden.  She was a member of Southside Baptist Church for 61 years where she loved being a member of the Joy Sunday School class.

Survivors are a daughter, Phyllis Brown (Steven), a son, Phillip Hamrick (Anna); grandchildren are Ashley Hicks (Michael), Michael Brown (Kelsey), Rebecca Elliot (Joe), Lisa Smith (Tony), and Cole Hamrick.  Great-grandchildren are Elizabeth Brown, Joshua Manly, Conner Hicks, Rosanna Brown, and Bowin Elliott.  Mrs. Hamrick was pre-deceased by two sisters, Elma Septon and Jeanette Waldrop and two brothers, Joe Estes and Charlie Estes.  She is last surviving member of her immediate family.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 16, 1:00-1:45PM at Southside Baptist Church Parlor, 316 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306.  Services will be Saturday, October 16, at 2:00PM at Southside Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson and Rev. Dr. Allen McWhite.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 316 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC, 29306.

Masks and social distancing are strongly encouraged.
