Linda Lee Sheffield Obituary

Linda Lee Sheffield, 79, of Whitney, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at her residence.  She was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to William Marvin and Edith May (Ratliff) Brown on January 5, 1942. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 18, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Kerry Horn officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney.  Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2021, at the funeral homes.

Linda grew up in Burleson, Texas, and graduated from Burleson High School in 1960.  She was united in marriage to Tommy Ray Sheffield on July 13, 1960, in Burleson.  After raising her children, Linda attended Hill College, receiving her degree in Nursing in 1982.  She worked at Grant and Buie Hospital, Total Home Health, Itasca Nursing Home, Bridgeway and retired from Kindred Home Health in 2018.  Nursing was her life.  She loved the nursing life and taking care of her many patients with love and dignity.  An avid Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan, Linda enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, riding horses.  Her favorite horse was Midnight.  She also enjoyed sitting on her back porch drinking coffee and absolutely loved spending time with her family.  Linda was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington, Texas. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Tommy Allen Sheffield; brother, Butch Brown; sister, Sandy Hicks and great-grandson, Hudson Calvin.  Survivors include her husband, Tommy Sheffield; children, Colleen Willet and husband Doyle, Kelly Clowdus and husband Ray, Scott Sheffield and wife Sandra, and Debbie Moore; brother, Darrell Brown, and wife Paula; sisters, Delores Cox and Shirley Sims; ten grandchildren; Shanda, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Emily, Jenny, Randall, Jessica, Scotty, Stephanie, and Stacey; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
