Larry Dean Black Obituary

Larry Dean Black, age 79, resident of Coweta, Oklahoma departed this life on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at his residence.  Dean was born on August 12, 1942 to Edward Jake and Vera Maude (Guthrie) Black in Nowata, Oklahoma.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  Dean married the love of his life, Charlene Virginia Pruitt on June 23, 1967 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.   He was the owner of Dean’s Welding Company.  Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, shooting guns, and going water skiing.

Dean is survived by his children, DeeAnna Dean Black of Coweta, Oklahoma, Larry Dewayne Black and spouse Denise Bales of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Charles Keith Black and spouse Frederic Taggart of Dallas, Texas, Chad Alan Black of Coweta, Oklahoma, Debbie Black, and Darlene Duff and fiancé Adam Bowman of Princeton, Indiana; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Garcia and spouse Chera Garcia, Faith Trott, Elizabeth Black, Jacob Dean Black, Myles Black, Cody Duff and spouse Polly Duff, Taylor Duff, Daniel, and Bryce; great grandchildren, Raegan Montgomery and Veada Garcia, Calvin and Nathan; his brother, Rodney Black of Nowata, Oklahoma; his sisters, Nancy Reeves of Nowata, Oklahoma, Connie Anderson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jackie Hathcoat and her husband Tom of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Virginia Black, his parents, Edward Jake and Vera Maude Black, and four brothers, Jerry Black, Robert Black, Marion “Pete” Black, and John Black.

Viewing will be from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating Dean’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 22, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Danny Harrison officiating.  Dean will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Caleb Pool, David Breshears, Billy Cade, Bob Jordan, Shaun Milford, and Jason Janes.
