<p>Nancy Jean Shipe, 68 of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from her home surrounded by her family.</p><p><br></p><p>Nancy, aka “Sunshine” to Bill, will be remembered as a beautiful person, inside and out. She loved people and the simple things in life. Her smile would light up the room. Music was also a big part of her life, but what will be remembered most about Nancy will be the love she had for her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. </p><p><br></p><p>Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Clarence King, and a brother, Leon King.</p><p><br></p><p>Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her mother, Barabara Hesterly (Ben); her loving husband, William Allen “Bill” Shipe; children, Jason Maynard (Jackie), Kellie Lester (Chip), Jennifer McGhee (Brent), and Allen Shipe (Jamie); grandchildren, Dylan, Austin, Liam, and Miles; and her niece, Noel, and her mother-in-law, Libby Shipe.</p><p><br></p><p>In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to offer their deep appreciation for the staff of Lewis-Gale Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospice, for the love and care given to Nancy when it was most needed. </p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Nancy’s memory to the American Cancer Society.</p><p><br></p><p>Online condolences may be expressed to the Shipe family by visiting www.johnmoakey.com.</p>

Nancy Jean Shipe, 68 of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from her home surrounded by her family.


Nancy, aka “Sunshine” to Bill, will be remembered as a beautiful person, inside and out. She loved people and the simple things in life. Her smile would light up the room.
