Marion Mildred Mischka Obituary

Marion M. (nee Draves) Mischka, age 77 of Wautoma, peacefully completed her journey to her Savior’s arms on October 13, 2021 with her family by her side.  She was born on September 11, 1944 to Millard and Loretta Draves, and was the youngest of 5 girls, who grew up working hard on the family farm.  On September 22, 1962 she married Marvin Mischka, and was his loving, devoted wife of 59 years.

Marion worked several years in the Wautoma School cafeteria, in addition to farming, gardening and ultimately her favorite job of being Grammy to her 3 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter, who could never get enough of their Grammy.

Marion was very compassionate, giving and caring, and never ever wanted any spotlight on her.  She had a very deep faith which carried her through difficult times in life.  She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Marion is survived by her husband: Marvin; children: Connie (Chuck) Roedel, Jackie Putskey; grandchildren: Brent (Melissa) Putskey; Collin (Barbie) Putskey; Lauren Roedel; great granddaughter: Kylie Putskey; sisters: Jeanette Sturgul, Janis O’Kon, Barbara Blader; special sister-in-law; Bev (David) Sutherland; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister: Arlene Fenner.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 11AM – 1PM on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church followed by the memorial service at 1PM at Peace Lutheran Church, Wautoma.

The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to the staff at Rosemore Village and Agnesian Hospice Hope for taking such special care of Marion over the past 11 months, and being so kind and caring to the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christian Family Solutions for the Adult Intensive Outpatient Programs or the 10,000 Hours Initiative for youth. www.christianfamilysolutions.org/ways-to-help/donate/
