Alvin "Al" Vetter Obituary

Alvin R. “Al” Vetter, 84 of Greenville, Indiana passed away Wednesday at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital. He was born in Colesburg, Kentucky to the late Herman and Lillie (Keith) Vetter. He was retired from the US Postal Service, served in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post 42 in Floyds Knobs. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in New Albany. Survivors include his daughters Sherrie Kimberlin (Richard) and Susan Brock (Ian); brothers, Kenneth Ray Vetter Sr. (Wanda), Charles Henry Vetter and Larry Richard Vetter (Jacqueline); his sister Debra Kay Temple (Mike); three grandchildren David Kimberlin (Maryjo), Alaina Brock and Gage Brock; two great grandchildren AbbyGail Kimberlin and Emily Knighton. He was preceded in death by his wife Mamie D. (Acra) Vetter; his parents and grandson Bradley Kimberlin. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM Sunday and from 9-11 AM Monday at the Oak Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes. His funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday in the Oak Street Chapel with burial to follow at Graceland Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy to the American Cancer Society.
