John Cody MacNeill Obituary

MacNEILL, Cody Pictou MacNEILL, Cody – 72 of Pictou, passed away at his home with his wife Benita and niece Kym by his side on October 10, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. Cody is survived by his loving wife and best friend of over 40 years, Benita. He will be sadly missed by his closest friend, Duffy who was always there for him. Cody was born to parents, Toby MacNeill of Pictou and Faye Johnston. He is survived by brothers, Tye (Yvonne), Shannon; and sisters, Teri (Fraser), Judy, Tanya, Mitzi (James); and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Toni. Cody was a millwright for many years and was also a fisherman back in the day. His big interest was working on Ford cars, from engines to bodies and everything in between. Guys would come from all over to seek his input. Cody loved animals, especially his cats. He also had a big interest in the survival of sharks. He was a great husband, a great friend and an all around great guy. To honor Cody’s wishes, he has been cremated and there will be no service or funeral. A special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses in the Palliative Care Unit, the Chemotherapy Unit at Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow and all the VON nurses and LPNs who were there for Cody. Last but not least, a big thank you to Kym, Rachel R.N. Palliative Care, Duffy and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou for CARMA Pictou County, the S.P.C.A. Pictou County or the Canadian Cancer Society.
