Carol A. Uselding Obituary

Mrs. Carol Uselding, formerly of Cedarburg, Iola and Jackson, passed away at Froedtert West Bend Hospital on October 12, 2021. She was 83 years old. Carol was born in Milwaukee on July 25, 1938, daughter of Stephan and Anna Dlapa Andlar. She attended local schools before completing her education at Washington High School in Milwaukee. Carol was united in marriage with David Uselding in Shorewood on February 15, 1958. The couple settled in Milwaukee and started their family, later moving to Cedarburg in 1970. The couple moved to Iola in 1986, following Dave’s retirement. He managed the Glacier Wood Pro-Shop and Carol worked as a cook at the country club. Dave preceded her in death in 2017. Carol enjoyed playing games and doing puzzles with her granddaughter Ellie, playing video poker at the casinos, and Facebook. She liked birds of all kinds, and would never turn down an offer to chat with a friend over a vodka & Caffeine Free Diet Coke. When she moved to Cedar Community she was a big fan of the daily Activity schedule of Yahtzee, Trivia, Jeopardy, and Bingo. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Ann (Gordon) Legaard of West Bend, granddaughter Ellie Legaard, sisters Marilyn (the late Michael) Staniec of Fort Meyers , FL, and Kathleen (Robert) Klein of Hartland, longtime friend Jackie Huybers of Port Washington, and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Stephan and Anna, and husband David. The family would like to extend their thanks to all of the caregivers at Froedtert Hospital and the Cedar Community. There will be a Memorial Service held at 3PM on Saturday, November 6th at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Cedarburg (1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg, WI). Deacon Thomas Surges will preside. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral home on Saturday, November 6, from 1-3PM. Carol and Dave will be laid to rest at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery, Belgium.
