James J. Gawrys

GAWRYS - James J. Of Amherst; entered into rest October 12, 2021. Loving son of Theresa (nee Szarpa) and the late John J. Gawrys; dearest brother of Roseann (Brian) Gannon, Paulette (Michael) McAuley and Anita (Roger) Murphy; dear uncle of Christian, Nicholas, Zachary Gannon, Duncan, Bronwyn, Kayla McAuley, Jon (Stephanie), Shauna, Luke Murphy and great-uncle of Wesley. Jim was an avid music fan and animal lover. He leaves behind many friends and co-workers from almost three decades at National Grid, as well as his cherished cats Lu and Char. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME, 885 Niagara Falls Blvd., near Eggert/Sheridan Dr., on Sunday from 3-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, in St. Leo the Great Church, 885 Sweet Home Rd., at 9 o’clock. Please assemble at church. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, contributions may be made to either stlukesmissionofmercy.org or the Ten Lives Club. Please share condolences at www.lombardofuneralhome.com
