Beatrice Knerr West Reading, Pennsylvania Obituary

Beatrice Knerr

Beatrice Knerr, 84, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. She was the widow of Donald Knerr, who passed away in 1993. Born in Pricetown, she was a child of the late David and Catherine (Noll) Derr. She attended the Reading School District. She was a member of the former Trinity E.C. Church, now part of Community Evangelical Church. Though she had been dedicated to raising her family, Beatrice was also a proud career woman--for over 50 years, she worked at Bachman’s Pretzels. After retirement, she delighted in games of Bingo, trips to the casino, and shopping with QVC. She took great joy in feeding her wild menagerie of squirrels and chipmunks, who will miss her (and her peanuts) dearly. Left to treasure her memory are her children: Donna Epler of Robsonia, Suzanne (Richard) Kripplebauer, of Wernersville, Samuel (Margaret) of North Carolina, Donald A., II, of Kenhorst, Scott (Robin) of Mohrsville, and Sharon (Nelson) Skinner of Orwigsburg; 18 grandchildren; and 34 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Catherine and Betty. In addition to her husband, Donald, Beatrice was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra. She was also predeceased by eight other brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mike Snedecker at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, with interment to follow at the Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood. Friends and family may view from 10:00 AM until the start of service. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
