When he was young he would ride his horse to and from school. He joined the military in 1951 at the age of 17. He became a pilot in the Air Force and saw a lot of the world. He was honorably discharged from the military on September 1, 1959 as a staff sergeant. He attended the Church of Christ on San Pedro and was at the first service when the new building opened on Montgomery Blvd. He was very involved with the church and rarely missed a Sunday. Ernest and Gay had four children. Sherry, Dana, Susan, and Ernest Jr. (Bo). They had four grandchildren. Steven, Tammy, Trevor, and Blair. And his nephew Scott "Skippy" Baker. He loved his family, church, and friends. He went to be with the Lord September 29, 2021. He will be missed dearly by so many. He was a man who was very giving. He worked hard his entire life. He can now rest in the arms of our Lord with so many of his friends and family that he has missed. Hopefully they don't get into too much trouble up there.
