Virginia "Ginny" Hardy

<p>Virginia Hardy (nee Simmons), age 86, of Barrington, IL passed away peacefully on Monday October 11, 2021.</p> <p>Ginny was born in Chicago, IL on November 21, 1934. She was an avid traveler and nature enthusiast and was devoted to her two basset hounds, Sherlock and Penny. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.</p> <p>Ginny is survived by her loving children, Richard (Melissa) Hardy and Carolyn (Daniel) Selke; cherished grandchildren, Brian and Eric Selke, Paige and Kathryn Hardy; sister, Dorothy (Lou) Ehrhard; as well as many nieces and nephews.</p> <p>Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward K. Hardy III; and parents, Richard and Dorothy Simmons.</p> <p>A visitation for Ginny will be held from on Saturday October 16, 2021, from 2pm until 4pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 West Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Natural Resource Defense Council.</p>

ginny was always so positive and fun we had a wonderful trip to scotland with them many many laughs and memories

My thoughts and prayers are with the Hardy and Selke families during this tough time........I did not know Ginny, but I do know Carolyn and Dan very well and join in their sorrow as the days go by..........rest well, Mrs. Hardy....Godspeed.........
