Earnest Wayne Coleman Obituary

Earnest Coleman, known to those closest to him as Wayne was born April 18, 1951 in Gregg County. He was the second child of the late F.J. Coleman Sr. and Hazel L Coleman. Earnest received his education with Pine Tree ISD where he was a star basketball player.

Earnest married Mary Frances Lilly on May 6, 1978. This union resulted in a beautiful blended family of four children. Earnest accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He united with the Willow Springs Baptist Church where he was a member of the male chorus and proudly served on the usher board. Earnest work history included Gregg- Tex Asphalt and Gregg County Pct 4. Earnest retired from Gregg County on his Dad’s birthday, April 28, 2016 after thirty years of dedicated service. Earnest was very passionate about work and time off was not a part of his agenda. He talked about working until the day the Lord called him home.

Earnest was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents Boyd Coleman and Ula Mae Harper and R. P. and Minnie Whitaker, his brothers Edward Coleman, who he called his twin because they were only seventeen months apart and his brother Fornest “Voo” Coleman Jr. who only preceded him in death by one month.

He leaves in cherishment his beautiful wife of forty-three years, Mary Frances; Sons, Derrick Head (Lavesa) of Longview, TX and Antonio Future Lilly (Katinya) of Frisco, TX; Daughters, Roceta Anderson (Marcus) and Carla Head both of Longview, TX; Brother, Michael Coleman of Longview, TX; Sisters, Pamela Mitchell (Fredrick) of Longview, TX and Tonya Coleman Williams of Elgin, TX; Eleven grandchildren, Jaydn Porter, Ryan Wallace, Keyannia Lister, Kymbriannia Lister, Tonee Lilly, Aaliyah Lilly, Future Lilly III, Fredrick Lilly, Brandon Woodson, Jordan Medford and Morgan Medford; One great-grand, Evangeline “Angel” Wallace and his only aunt, Helen Crain, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
