After graduating high school, she left the farm at the age of 16 to live in Ann Arbor, Michigan ,with her Aunt Mabel and Grandmother Kelly. It was in Ann Arbor she met her husband, Al Dunn, who was in the US Army studying Japanese at the University of Michigan. They married on September 1, 1945. She had her own baking business in Sao Paulo and was know for her spectacular brunches. Kathy loved to play bridge and belonged to sewing and book clubs. Most importantly, Kathy was a wonderful friend to many in the various places she lived, and her generosity and sweet nature blessed her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Bill), and son, Dennis. She has 5 grandchildren, Casey (Rebecca), Paul (Erika), Taylor, Brennan and Weston and 3 great grandchildren, Braden, Kylie and Evelyn Stewart. Additionally, she is survived by sisters-in-law, Eva Kelly of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Dolores Kelly, of Tower Hill, Illinois and her 18 nieces and nephews (and their families) who are spread out around the US in nine different states. A private graveside interment of her ashes next to her husband, Al, at Shiloh Cemetery in Windsor will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Kathy’s memory may be made to Continuum Hospice, 5401 Old Redwood Hwy, Petaluma, CA 94954 or a charity of your choice.
