Barbara Lee Ballard, 80, of Davenport, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Delhi Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a short illness. Born on June 12, 1941 in Oneonta, She was the daughter of the late William and Marjorie (Calhoun) Fingar. Barbara was married to her husband of 58 years, John Ballard. She worked at Charlotte Valley Central School for over 30 years and volunteered to help with nearly every school function and sporting event. Barbara could often be found collecting tickets at the school’s basketball and soccer games, helping the drama club with a production, or simply helping out in the concession stand, you could always count on Barbara being there to support the kids at Charlotte Valley. She loved watching her sons play sports and almost never missed a game. She also enjoyed watching Duke Basketball and the NY Yankees. When able, she was a devoted member of the Davenport United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Barbara was also an active member of the Davenport Fire Dept. Women’s Auxiliary. Besides her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her special uncle: Harry Calhoun, her sister Beverly Dorosky and brother William Fingar, Jr. She is survived by husband: John P. Ballard of Davenport; sons: Timothy (Tammy) Ballard of Worcester and Jason (Samantha) Ballard of Schoharie; grandchildren: Benjamin, John (Jack), Maxton, Lilian and Clark Ballard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
