Sandra Clydene Kuhrau Obituary

Sandy Kuhrau, age 79, of Midland, TX, passed away on October 12, 2021, in Midland.

Sandy was born February 17, 1942, to Clyde Weldon Davis and Tommie Thelma Greene Davis in Lampasas, TX. She is the youngest of 4 children, and they lived on a ranch. She trusted Christ as her Savior at the age of 8. Her family was a member of First Baptist Church, Andrews at the time. She was an active member from grades 1-8 at FBC, Andrews. Her Mom read Psalm 23 to her and her siblings every night at bedtime. It became a special scripture passage and a fond memory of her Mom.

She attended Baylor University, where she met her husband. They adopted 2 sons, while living in Kermit, Corey, and Kennon Williamson. She worked 27 years as a schoolteacher.

She met and married Ted Kuhrau and they lived in Seattle. They were blessed to travel together. After he died in 2009, she moved to Georgetown, TX. In 2014, her sons, Corey and Kennon, asked her to move to Midland so she could be closer to them.

Sandy’s faith in God has sustained her in good and difficult times. One of her favorite quotes is by Katherine Marshall, “Satan’s oldest and most used trick-looking steadily at the difficulty instead of Jesus.” Her life’s motto is “Whatever hurts leave it to God.”

Sandy’s special blessings are, her sons, her friends, Jane Tripp Smith, Clarice and Peter Geiger, her Holy Land Trip to Alaska and her dogs, Lucy, and Jingles.

Her hobbies include Knitting and Crochet. She was a Sunday School teacher for 7th grade girls and Vacation Bible School.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, October 18, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with James Ervin officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
