Lindsay Coté Donald, 36, accomplished attorney and swimmer, was born and raised in Louisville and passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2021, in Chicago. She was a graduate of duPont Manual High School in Louisville and an accomplished swimmer competing on the National Team with the Lakeside Seahawks. In 2004, she set the Kentucky record for 100-yard freestyle. Lindsay earned a scholarship and swam for the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. After college, Lindsay earned her Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt Law School, graduating magna cum laude. Lindsay began her legal career by clerking for the respected federal judge Hon. John Heyburn, II. Upon completion of her clerkship, she practiced corporate and insurance law in Chicago with an international law firm. She was a member of all local, state, and national bar associations. In 2016, Lindsay made the List of Rising Illinois Stars. Lindsay was the daughter of Bob (Barbara) Donald and the late Carrie Gibson Donald. She was the sister of Rob (Alana) Donald and Courtney (John) Byrnes. Lindsay was the loving aunt of Charlie, Atticus, and River Donald and Colin, Caroline, and Jack Byrnes. Upon her request, no services are being planned.
