Rosemarie Geter Obituary

Rosemarie Geter was born on September 14, 1963, in Bridgeport, Connecticut to the late Frederick Adgie Geter and Evelyn Geter. She was the sixth child of eight children: William Stanley Geter (Florida), Frederick Matthew Geter (deceased), Donald Geter (Bridgeport), Michael Jerome Geter (Florida), Lillian Maureen Geter (Curtis/deceased); Tammy Geter Flagler (Jackie) Virginia, and Katrina Geter (Bridgeport). Rosemarie (Rosie) attended public schools in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She graduated from Bullard Havens with a culinary arts degree. Rosie worked several jobs during her lifetime: at People’s Bank as an Administrator; People’s Bank in the Credit Card Processing Center; and several culinary jobs. She retired from Miller Ale in Kissimmee, Florida. Cooking was per passion and she was known for it. She was the “Best” cook in the family. She met John Edward Sullivan and from this union she gave birth to four children: 3 sons: John Edward Sullivan, Jr (West Haven, Connecticut), Isaac Matthew Sullivan (Bridgeport, Connecticut), Travis J. Sullivan (Florida) and 1 daughter Ebony Marie Sullivan (New Haven, Connecticut). As a child, she was baptized and became a member of Walter’s Memorial AME Zion Church. She was a member of the Buds of Promise; The Voices of Zion Choir and a Sunday School member. When she moved to Poinciana, Florida, she wanted to find a church to call home and found that in Parkview Christian Life Center in Haines City, Florida. Rosie loved cooking and started her own catering at home, making dinners, cakes, and pies for her customers. We love her deeply for caring for our mother, Evelyn Geter (deceased). She took her everywhere: church, doctor appointments; tag sales; shopping, and out to eat. She is missed extremely. Now she is up in Heaven, smiling with her mom. God is saying, “Well done, my Good and Faithful Servant”. Rosemarie Geter is preceded in death by her parents: Frederick A. Geter and Evelyn Geter, her uncles Matthew Newsome, James Geter, Gary Geter and Stanley Geter; her aunts: Millie Geter and Willease Geter; her brother Frederick Matthew Geter and brother-in law Curtis Taylor. She leaves to mourn her passing her four children: John Edward Sullivan, Jr (West Haven, Connecticut), Isaac Matthew Sullivan (Bridgeport, Connecticut), Travis J. Sullivan (Florida) and Ebony Marie Sullivan (New Haven, Connecticut), 3 brothers: William Stanley Geter (Florida), Donald Geter (Bridgeport), Michael Jerome Geter (Florida); 3 sisters: Lillian Maureen Geter (Curtis/deceased); Tammy Geter Flagler (Jackie) Virginia, and Katrina Geter (Bridgeport). She has 11 Grandchildren: Imani Sullivan-Goodridge, William McNeil, Jeremiah McNeil, E’Nyah McNeil, Marquis Manns II, Jalen Sullivan, Janelle Sullivan, Journey Sullivan, Isaiah Sullivan, Isaan Sullivan-Carter and Trenton Sullivan, and a host of other family members.
