Paula Ramirez, age 81, of Fairmont City, IL, born on May 29, 1940, in San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico, died on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Paula was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She loved to crochet clothing and quilts for family and friends.  Paula also loved flower gardening.  She always supported and helped family and friends whenever she could.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Ramirez; her parents, Zenon and Consepcion, nee Munoz, Martin; and her brother, Lorenzo Martin.

Paula is survived by her children, Silvia (Miguel Munoz) Ramirez, Maria Guadalupa (Alfonso Munoz) Ramirez, Raquel (Juan Escoto) Ramirez, Jose Luis (Estela Munoz) Ramirez, Ma. Ines Ramirez, Martha (Rodolfo Garcia) Garcia Ramirez, Rosendo (Lorena Lopez) Ramirez, Ernestina (Raul Garcia) Ramirez and Jorge (Marta Maldando) Ramirez; 27 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Florencio, Javier, Francisco, Jose, Reynaldo, Maria, Consepcion, Olivia, and Catalina.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City, IL.  Interment will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
