Douglas Allen Wallace Sr., age 74, of Fruitland, Maryland, peacefully departed this earthly journey, on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in Tidal-Health Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, Maryland. He was born October 5, 1947, in Nanticoke, Maryland. Douglas was the son of the late David Hernan Wallace and Emma Victoria (Douglas) Wallace.
Douglas retired from Wicomico County Detention Center after serving more than thirty dedicated years. He also served in the Army branch of the United States Armed Forces.
He was an active member of St. James Free Methodist Church, where he served as a Trustee and on the Culinary Committee.
Douglas loved fishing, watching “his Dallas Cowboys,” and playing cards. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting and cooking. He was a loving family man, good provider, and a loyal friend. He, Ronnie, and Mr. Ben were known as the “three amigos.”
Douglas leaves to cherish loving memories, his wife of forty-seven years, Violet Moses Wallace of Fruitland, Maryland; three daughters: Valarie (Henry) Polk, Latoya Wallace (Adam), and Claudine Everett, all of Salisbury, Maryland, and one son: Douglas Allen Wallace Jr., of Fruitland, Maryland; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister: Lena Walker of Delmar, Maryland, and one brother: Calvin (Barbara) Wallace of Woodbridge, Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents: David Hernan Wallace and Emma Victoria (Douglas) Wallace; two brothers: David Wallace and Harold Wallace, one niece, and two nephews, all preceded him in death.
