Nancy Mary Yvonne LePage Obituary

LEWISTON – Nancy Mary Yvonne LePage, 72, of 707 S. Pleasant Rd, died Sunday morning, October 10, at CMMC with her family close by her side, after suffering a stroke 2 weeks prior. Many thanks to the incredible doctors, nurses and staff at CMMC, and to Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice for caring for and supporting Nancy and her family through this unexpected tragedy. Born February 16, 1949, in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, to her beloved parents Daniel Landry and Alma Johnson. Her family moved from Canada to Lewiston, Maine in 1956, where she has resided most of her life, however, Nancy was extremely proud of her Canadian heritage and remained a Canadian citizen throughout her life. She attended Holy Cross Elementary and St. Dominic’s High School and studied business at Bliss College in Lewiston. She worked in finance for E.A. Buschmann’s Inc on Ferry Rd. Lewiston for 17 years. Later, she worked at Bates College for 18 years in a variety of roles. She was a Student Services Specialist in the Financial Aid Department interacting and working/helping students daily navigating the complex financial aid process. She then became a Project Specialist managing the Senior Honors Thesis Program, the Graduate Fellowship Program and managed the process for Faculty Recruitment, before retiring in 2016 to enjoy precious time with family and friends, and the ‘lake life’ at their family’s summer camp in Wayne. In her spare time, Nancy also volunteered at the Public Theater in Lewiston, and participated in fundraising events with the PIPS (Pretty in Pink Survivors) to raise money for Breast Cancer Treatment and support. Nancy was an avid reader and spent hours sitting in the shade at home and at camp reading books. She especially enjoyed mystery novels, as she always secretly aspired to be a private investigator. She was also whip smart when it came to answering Jeopardy questions. Nancy was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchild, as they were the apples of her eye. Most importantly Nancy was in her glory when she was giving of herself to others in whatever capacity was needed. She was overflowing with love, was kind and thoughtful beyond measure. She made friends everywhere she went, many of whom grew to became lifelong friends. Her selfless acts of kindness for family, friends, and strangers alike will never be forgotten. She was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Alma Landry, her grandmother Claire Richard, her aunts Emily Johnson, Susan Bonnevie, and Julia Johnson, her uncles Gerard Johnson, Edmond Johnson and Isaie “Joe” Johnson. She was survived by her husband of 53 years, Lucien LePage and their two children: son Douglas and his wife Kathy LePage of Lewiston; daughter Pamela Greb of Seattle, WA; She was blessed with a total of 5 grandchildren and one and a half great-grandchildren: one granddaughter, Amanda and her husband Ethan Guerette of Auburn; four grandsons, Michael and Molly Sasseville of Sabattus, Travis LePage of Sabattus, Nikolaus and Alexander Greb of Seattle, WA: one great grandson Anson Beaulieu and another great grandchild on the way in November. Nancy also has dozens and dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives throughout Canada, and the US. Although Nancy was an only child by birth, her ‘sisters of the heart’ included Claudette Caron of Lewiston, Monita Gagnon of Litchfield and Rose Dumont of Durham. She will be missed far and wide by all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial in honor of Nancy’s life is scheduled for Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 11 AM, at Holy Cross Church. Graveside committal prayers will take place at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, ME on Monday, November 22, at 1 PM.
