Nancy J. Myers

Nancy J. Myers, 85, of Chambersburg, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 in her home with her family by her side. Born August 1, 1936 in Bedford County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ruby (Foor) Miller and widow to the late Rev. Sampson R. Myers, who passed away on July 1, 2017. Nancy was the Pastor alongside her husband at the Abundant Life Chapel in Chambersburg for over 40 years. Most important in her life were God, Church and her family. She was a woman of faith who also enjoyed reading and having lunch with her friends and family. She is survived by her children, Sampson R. Myers, Jr. of Chambersburg, Steven W. Myers of Chambersburg, Sharon E. Defenderfer and husband Thomas of Campbelltown, Scott A. Myers of Hagerstown, MD, and Shannon C. Myers of Chambersburg; seven granddaughters, Misty Myers, Stephanie Myers, Alisha Mottern, Angela Beck, Jessica Defenderfer, Jerusha Gill and Jaina Shirk; four grandsons, Shannon Myers, Jr., Dyon Taylor-Myers, Aaron Myers, and Jacob Myers; three great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons; siblings Pam Bradley, Dave Miller, Donna Claar, Barbara Claar, Darla Hockenberry, and Donald Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Eddie, Arlene and Walter Lee. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 18, 2021 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, where Benjamin Gill will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Abundant Life Chapel, 1513 Shatzer Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
