David Ross Leasure

David Ross Leasure died peacefully in his home on October 7, 2021 of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. David was born March 13, 1941 in Cumberland, MD. He graduated from Allegheny High School in 1959. After graduating from Frostburg State College in 1964 with a degree in elementary education he moved to Baltimore where he taught 6th grade for five years. For the remainder of his 38 year career with Baltimore County Public Schools he was a Pupil Personnel Worker, helping at risk students. He retired in 2002. David was an avid traveler and a car enthusiast. He was a member of the Maryland Chevelle Club, and enjoyed taking his 1971 Chevelle to shows. He was an active member of the Catonsville Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. His talents were many and wide ranging. David loved people and was always ready to give others a helpful hand. David is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rachel LeBlond Leasure, five children; David M. Leasure, Denise Connolly, Douglas Leasure, Caitlin Wendell, Zachary Leasure, and nine grandchildren. The family will celebrate his life privately.
