Joyce Karnahan lived a full 98 years on this earth and was peacefully reunited with her heavenly family on October 12, 2021.

Joyce was born on July 28, 1923 in Dodge City, KS to Jewel and Nellie (Rogers)  Leach. She grew up in Pratt, KS. On June 28, 1943 she married Robert Karnahan and together they raised their 2 sons in Laramie, WY and El Dorado, KS.

After retiring in 1988 from Social Security Administration, she lived in Augusta, KS where she devoted her time to her family and beloved grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dale Leach; sister, Wathena Nash; husband, Robert Karnahan; son, Roger Karnahan; and grandson, Todd Karnahan.

She is survived by: son, Mike Karnahan; daughter in law, Mary Ann Karnahan-Everhart (Tony); granddaughters, Amanda McDonald (Sean), Robin Cheslic (Chad); 6 great grandchildren, Colton, Tucker, Makenna, and Kinsley McDonald, and Hayley and Riley Cheslic.

Joyce will forever be remembered for her feisty wit, fun loving spirit, and devotion to her family. 

Services will be held privately. In honor of her love for dogs, memorial donations may be made to Kansas Humane Society 3313 N Hillside Wichita, Kansas 67219.
