Diana Lee O'Donnell

O’Donnell, Diana Lee March 2, 1950-October 12, 2021 Passed away peacefully at Emmanuel House Hospice after a brief illness. Predeceased by her parents James and Mable (nee Hines). Survived by her siblings Vicki (David), Cheryl, Michael (the late Leslie), Cathie (Glenn), Debra (Van), and Stacie. Predeceased by her sister Teresa (Carl) and brother Patrick. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. She will also be deeply missed by the Leitch family. Diana always enjoyed spending time with her family in US, especially at the annual Family Reunions. Diana was born in California, went to teachers college in Trinidad and received her degree from McMaster University. She was a Sister of St. Joseph of Cluny for 20 years until 1989. Diana was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish where she sang in the choir and volunteered in parish activities. As an elementary school teacher with the HWCDSB, the highlights of her career were the years spent teaching JK/SK to grade 2 and the colleagues who became lifelong friends. After retiring she spent much of her time volunteering with the Good Shepherd Brothers and with the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario. Her favourite past times included spending time with friends and family, volunteering, reading and walking. Her family extends a special thank you to the caregivers at Emmanuel House for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME (796 Upper Gage Ave., Hamilton) on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 2-4pm with prayers at 3:30pm. If you wish to attend, masks are mandatory and RSVP must be done through www.dermodys.com or by calling 905-388-4141. In lieu of flowers donations to the Good Shepherd Centre or St. Joseph’s Parish would be appreciated, and online condolences can be made at www.dermodys.com.
