Jacob M. Fooshee Obituary

Jacob Michael Fooshee, 19, of Greeley Colorado, passed away on October 11th, 2021. He was born June 16th, 2002 in Greeley, CO to Richard and Angela (Wurth) Fooshee. Jacob attended Frontier Academy and graduated in 2021. He recently began working towards an undergraduate degree at Aims Community College. Jacob was a bright light that shined through in all of us – His family, his friends, and every person he ever met. His infectious smile is one we will never forget, and that touched all of our hearts. On October 11th, 2021, Jacob tragically passed away. His family and friends are left devastated and shocked but trying to bring justice to his memory and the fun, adventurous life he lived. Jacob was warm, compassionate, kind, and loved making people laugh. He was a goofball, and we all know a word or two that he made up. No matter who you are, he knew he could make you smile when he was goofing around. If it wasn’t his jokes, it was his big, boisterous laugh that would get you every time. He had a joy for life and never took anything too seriously. Jacob loved his family. He loved going on trips with his grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. He was looking forward to taking another big trip to the mountains next year. But it wasn’t just the big trips – He loved being with his family all the time, and never missed out on a chance to play keep it up with everyone, get a bite of Grandma Kathy’s Oreo ice cream pie, or scare his dad from behind a corner. Jacob LOVED food. He loved making wild creations, like his homemade double-decker tacos. Some of his favorites were crab legs, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, and anything that was spicy enough to burn a hole in his stomach. He was a genuine person who would tell you like it is. Everything about him was real – His honesty, his stubbornness, his sweet soul, but most of all, his love. He loved big family breakfasts, going on adventures, basketball, hiking, his family, and his friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Fooshee, and his grandfather, Ricky L. Fooshee. He is survived by his father Richard Fooshee, his sisters Madelynn and Ashley, his grandparents Merrilyn Fooshee, Kathy Wurth, Jim Wurth, and a host of aunts and uncles, cousins, family and friends. Jacob’s Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 23rd at 10 am at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, followed by internment at Estes Valley Memorial Gardens in Estes Park, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family's GoFundMe (https://gofund.me/1c2e1ffa), or the National Center for Victims of Crime (victimsofcrime.org). Jacob will be so dearly missed. They say the good ones die young, and that’s especially true in Jacob’s case. He was a good one, the best one. We love him so much, we miss him so much, and he will forever be in our hearts.
