Josephine Carlina Pigg Obituary

Josephine "Jo" Carlina Pigg was born on August 20, 1931 in Dawson, New Mexico. She lived and died in Parker, Colorado on October 11, 2021 at the age of 90. Jo graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Raton, New Mexico.

Jo married Ernest "Ernie" Pigg on December 31st, 1955 in Raton and together they had four children, Michael, Tammie, Kellie and Kathie and were fortunate enough to have their "bonus" children Linda and Holly. Jo and Ernie were married 53 loving years. Jo suffered the most unimaginable loss when her daughter Tammie passed away from cancer at the age of 33. Her strong relationship with the Lord gave her the strength to go on and it brings our family such joy to know Jo and Tammie are once again reunited.

Jo is survived by her children, Michael Bertinelli, Kellie (Mike) Walter and Kathie Story as well as her son in law, Doug Nordlander. She was a loving and involved grandmother to Dan (Stephanie) Nordlander, Lyndsie (Wes) Riggs, Peter (Linda) Nordlander, Ryan Morgan, Vinny (Briana) Bertinelli, Katie (Chris) Psyhos, Matt (Alba) Nordlander, Karie (Mark) Rossini, Justin Morgan, Chase Bertinelli, Josh (Petra) Nordlander, Sarah Norlander and will be dearly missed. She was also a wonderful great-grandmother to twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lena, brother, Albert and her loving husband, Ernie, daughter, Tammie, daughter in law, Sharon and bonus daughter Linda.

Jo was a passionate, fun-loving, and caring person who spent the majority of her time on this earth helping others. Many considered Jo to be their unlicensed (unpaid) therapist, distributing wise and thoughtful advice over the years. She was always a phone call away to anyone who needed to talk. Jo's strong faith was well known to all who knew and loved her and we are delighted that she is now walking with the lord. Her love of cooking will live on through her children and grandchildren, she wrote her own cook book for her 80th birthday.

Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.

Reception to follow Funeral Mass.
